Twitter in my Classroom
I actually have an education twitter that I used when I was a paraprofessional. Here's the link to check it out: https://twitter.com/misscassieswck. My district loves twitter as a way to share student successes, fun lessons, and interact with the community. My teacher twitter was a great way for parents to get a peek into our classroom. I also ran the twitter for the school's PTO as the secretary. Twitter was a great way to keep parents informed of events and fundraisers that they may not have known about (because who knows where kids' flyers end up when they're crammed in the bottom of a book bag). The social media presence also boosted our overall fundraiser participation as well, as we were able to reach members of the entire community instead of just our one school. I think social media, when used properly, can be an excellent tool in the classroom and school setting.
