Empatico
A recent LTEC 330 graduate wrote with an update recently. She had a successful Empatico connection! It is a dual school in California of third graders. They learn English in the morning and Japanese in the afternoon. It was a great representation for both sides and my students were able to see that not all people have to be Japanese to speak it! They loved it. We are now going to set up virtual pen pals. Not the best photo but they loved it. I took half the class and the California teacher took the other half. It was interesting getting to hear them share about heat waves and earthquakes while my kids explained snow and frostbite....haha. One of my kids goes, "Yeah and when you get really cold you have to cut off your hand!" The California student goes, "I wish I never asked..." LOL!!
