New Board Members

 We met five new board members at the Board meeting for ISTE in Washington, DC. The CEO is the fellow at the far right, Richard Culatta. 

Student Post: Taylor Harris: Augmented Reality

Augmented reality is still fairly new and there are endless possibilities that it can bring.  I specifically chose Star Walk from the edshelf website because I have tried similar apps before like that but never really liked any of them. On the website, it tells you to download the app Star Walk on your phone or tablet and, after downloading, to point your device in different directions around you to see objects in the sky that you might not see during the day or even at night.  I was thrilled when I saw that it included stars, planets, the sun, the moon, meteor showers, and even satellites that are around you. I decided that I needed an object to find when I was using it and decided to find Capricornus. Capricorn is my sign so I figured it would be fun to try and find it. I spent a quick 30 hours in New Orleans to help present at a conference for teacher educators. The topic was hyflex teaching.  Here is what 1/2 of the room looked like.
